FHWA University Course on Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation

The second edition of a set of resources that provides background materials for an undergraduate or graduate university course on bicycling and walking.

The U.S. Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has released the second edition of a set of resources that provides background materials for an undergraduate or graduate university course on bicycling and walking. The FHWA distributes the teaching resources to stimulate the development of nationwide university courses on bicycle and pedestrian transportation. The resources include 24 lessons with technical summaries and background reading for students, 24 scripted slideshows that correspond to the lessons in the student workbook, and a scripted one- or two-lecture overview slideshow that can be incorporated into existing undergraduate or graduate transportation courses. A CD-ROM containing the course materials including the student workbook and individual PowerPoint slideshows can be obtained by contacting Ann Do of the FHWA. (ann.do@fhwa.dot.gov)
